From 1905 to the present day Sinn Féin has been central to the struggle for Irish independence and the republican ideals of Liberty , Equality and Fraternity. Meath Sinn Féin has a proud history dating back to the election of our first TDs in the county, Éamonn Duggan and the famed revolutionary Liam Mellows who were both elected in 1918. Sinn Féin has since grown to become the 3rd largest party in Ireland and the 3rd largest in Meath. Meath Sinn Féin is synonymous with energetic campaigning Cumainn and dedicated elected representatives who are recognised for their community focus. To achieve our goals Sinn Féin must grow and build further. The 2009 Local and European Elections offers Meath Sinn Féin an opportunity to develop and build through out the county. Published: August 12, 2008  Print  Email On a recent visit to Shanghai Sinn Féin Cllr Peadar Tóibín held discussions with four Chinese Trade Development Organisations in an effort to persuade Chinese businesses to consider locating in Navan. Cllr Tóibín who has a background in Economics and Enterprise Development and who works as a Business Consultant siad that ‘ China is a fascinating country. There is an energy and a vibrancy there that I have not seen anywhere else. Because of its sheer size, business instincts and rapid growth it will be in my view the centre of the economic world in the coming decades. I felt therefore that my recent visit offered me an important opportunity as a Navan Councillor to showcase the advantages offered by the Navan area as a location for Chinese firms interested in developing their business in Ireland and the EU”.
